Large slab of Bardigelio marble   I'm carving a fossil skeleton of a stegosaurus in a 1400 lb (600kg) slab of  Bardiglio Imperiale marble, a gray marble from Carrara, Italy.

The shape is emerging
Up to this point the stone was laying flat. It was time to stand it up vertically and carve the central portions.

resting against a large block of white statuary marble.
